The glossary to understand and take action

Registration of a food establishment

Registration makes it possible to identify food-chain establishments and activities with the competent authority. It concerns operators falling within the scope of the procedure, according to their activity.

Understand the scope

What is this process for?

Registration should not be confused with approval that may be required for certain activities. It does not replace hygiene and traceability obligations.

How to prepare the process

Describe each establishment, the products and the operations actually carried out. Check whether particular activities require another file. Update changes and cessations in accordance with ALVA's instructions. Keep documentation enabling products, suppliers and operations to be linked, in order to respond to inspections and manage a food-safety issue.
