The glossary to understand and take action

Cessation of activity

Cessation of activity ends operations, but does not automatically extinguish all of the company's obligations. The steps depend on the status, employees, taxes, contracts and existing registrations.

Understand the scope

What is this process for?

Stopping invoicing, closing a bank account, deregistering a registration and liquidating a company are different acts. Insolvency issues require a separate analysis from voluntary closure.

How to prepare the process

Prepare an inventory of commitments and bodies to be informed. Organise the final returns, settlement of debts, collection of receivables and retention of records. For a company, review the appropriate legal procedure. The end of the accountant's engagement must leave clear responsibility for the remaining formalities to be completed.

A scenario to help you understand
