Its role for your business
It does not supervise every business or every fiduciary service provider indiscriminately. Check the entity’s precise status and the nature of the authorisation sought in official resources.

When to contact them and what to prepare
The CSSF operates in the financial sector according to the powers defined by the applicable texts. For a manager, the first issue is determining whether the planned activity falls within a regulated scope and which status is relevant. A company registered with the RCS is not thereby authorised by the CSSF. Verification must cover the exact name, the legal entity and the authorised activities, using official lists and information.

Educational example
A company is considering entrusting a financial service to an intermediary. It compares the contracting party’s name with the entity appearing in official registers and verifies that the stated status corresponds to the service offered.

The practical question
Find out more
